Puffy Paint Moon, in conjunction with the upcoming Isra' Mi'raj.
~ 1/2 cup white glue
~ 1 1/2 cup shaving foam
For a class of 15 pax, 1 can of Gillette Lemon Lime Foam, RM12+ is good.
** The lemony scent is waaay better than other manly ones, in my humble opinion.
Engage:
Hold a styrofoam ball and ask, can you imagine what is this?
[ available at Mr. DIY, RM1.80 for 2 pcs]
A ball! They would say.
Ask them to keep guessing and hopefully, one will say..
MOON!
Explore:
1. Ask about the colors of the moon.
2. How far it is from the earth.
3. Ask about the moon surface. Is it smooth? Bumpy?
Take the styrofoam moon and poke with the back of whiteboard markers.
Let's make our moon with the puffy paint.
Create craters as well.
Explain:
Talk about how stars (big word would be meteorites) hit the moon.
This is why moon has craters.
Earth is protected by a shield (big word: atmosphere).
I always skip the BIG words.
Throughout the class, glorify Allah.
La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
